Rock for People 2010 Wrap-up

Are you spending the day on the town? No clue where to go? We have a few tips for you, so you can spend your time in RfP-friendly places. This has been made possible by the Amebassador project, which has put together a special endeavor called ROCK FOR PEOPLE FRIENDLY.

Over 2000 technicians, builders, electricians, plumbers and other workers have been transforming the Festivalpark in many ways in order to prepare it for the onslaught of visitors who will come to Hradce Králové to enjoy Rock for People. There are over 5 kilometers of fences, 150 meters of barriers near the stages, kilometers upon kilometers of cables, and the COOL and Evropa 2 stages are already covered with flooring. 

In order for you to feel good and safe at RfP this year, we've expanded the services of professional security, paramedics, and last but not least, even fire-fighters. For the fourth time this year, the same group of people will be making sure that you're safe and everything is going smooth. There will be 160 security guards on 112 posts and we'll even be using thermocameras for the first time this year in order to monitor unauthorized entry in the festival park.

Only five days left until the gates open at Hradec Kralove's Festivalpark and the prelude of this year's Rock for People! This means that time's almost up for you to buy tickets through Tickets for People at a lower price. We kindly encourage you to buy tickets at authorized advance-selling points - there have been attempts at selling forged tickets in the past. This is twice as likely with the bar codes/eTickets!!!

Some like cranberries, others like cherries - like the Canadian cherry on top we have to offer. The list of artists performing at the Festivalpark in Hradec Kralove has been available to the public for some time now. And from the looks of the preliminary sales, it's pretty safe to say that names like MUSE, The Prodigy, Editors, Morcheeba, Skunk Anansie, NOFX, Tricky, The Subways or Jello Biafra will bring in a record number of visitors from all of Europe. Still, we've got another major name to add to those greats. Our cherry on top will be none other than the Canadian punk rock band BILLY TALENT.

A record number of bands and activities as well as improved facilities and servicing are still far from being everything we wish to achieve in terms of our festival. In the past, we've already shown how much we care about the effect our festival has on the living environment around it, so this year, we're also continuing to reduce its negative consequences as much as we can. For example, we've joined the "Čisté festivaly" ("Clean festivals") project, the goal of which is to support garbage sorting at large events, especially festivals.
